Designed by British Designers
Our bags were designed by final year students studying for a BA focused in Fashion Accessory Design at Nottingham Trent University.
Olivia is now working in the fashion industry. She says she has been fortunate enough to travel, read, learn and make. As a contemporary designer her work is primarily influenced by her travels as much as it is pushing boundaries.
Laura Mosbey is now an experienced Account Manager working in the logistics and supply chain industry. Skilled in Customer Service, Freight, Logistics Management, Sales, and Transportation. She has a Bachelor of Arts – BA focused in Fashion Accessory Design from Nottingham Trent University.
Barking Bags have set up a working partnership with learners from MK SNAP. The learners are busy at the moment assembling and packing our dog walking bags with goodies ready for CRUFTS. Barking Bags are thrilled to be able to provide real work opportunities for the learners – it is such an inspirational organization. We know the work is supported and supervised so we can guarantee high- quality and we are delighted to hear that everyone is enjoying the work and learning new skills. It is a win-win for us all and as Barking Bags continues to grow we will look for new opportunities to work in partnership with them. We are really proud to be part of the team and the opportunities given to the learners through this amazing organization. http://mksnap.org/work-training/
Bags Bags are made by local artisans and skilled machinists in a well-run small factory unit in Chennai. They welcomed us recently when we went to visit, and we saw them creating the bags ready for dispatch. We brought back some samples of new designs and vegan friendly bags which will be available to see at Crufts and at other local shows.
Meet the team behind Barking Bags
Barkingbags is a small family business and we all chip in to make it work for our customers and their dogs
Rob is a total sucker when it comes to looking after our pooch. When he is not at work or heading off to the footie he is always looking for an excuse to walk the dog.
It was me who persuaded Rob get a dog and now he is the biggest softy. I thought it was time to introduce a family pet into our home when I gave up full time work to look after my 92 year old dad. I did most of the training and my dad broke all the rules (treats under the table, encouraging Maisie to sit on the sofa) but our little dog brought extra joy into our lives and filled a hole when grandad was no longer with us. He would be amazed that we had set up a business but proud of our success too.
Our technical whiz. She loves her work, supporting people with learning difficulties but she has Crohn’s disease and has to manage her health and her time carefully. However she always has time to help me sort out the website and all the technical stuff we need to run a small business.
Maisie – the 4 year old Cockapoo who has change our lives. She’s got us all walking in all weathers, helped made us fit, gives us her undivided attention when we aren’t well (or when we have treats) and she’s the one who has inspired us to create the bags.
